How to get more than one run without charging.
Getting tired of having to go recharge your Scooba 450 battery after only a single large room cleaning run ? I
installed a LI-ion 4400 mAH battery into the 450 and only got one run per charge. We all know that the LI-ion battery has much more capacity than the stock Scooba 450 battery.
To force a second run from your 450, after the first run is finished, go ahead and clean the tank then refill the tank as usual then remove the battery just for a moment then install it back and then place your 450 on the floor. press down the ( ! ) and Clean button at the same time then press the Room size button once and release all buttons. The Scooba will prompt for room size. Press the room size button for the size room you want to clean then hit the Clean button and away it goes. You just got a second run on the same battery without a intermediate charging cycle. Enjoy you cleaner floor.

Presented above are two USB cables that can be used to communicate with your 450. The RED cable connects directly from your PCs USB port to the 450s' Micro USB connection. Once you select the comm program (App) that you prefer then you can set the talking parameters to 115,200 baud, No parity, 1 Stop bit, and 8 bit words (normally displayed as 115200, N81. There are three Apps that I use that can be downloaded for free, just Google for them: Tera Term, Realterm, and Putty.
There is also another option that allows you to connect to the 450 using a hardware unit that has its own Network name so you can monitor untethored using a WiFi channel. In the picture above it is a white unit with the name Airconsole printed on the top. I don't sell it but you can go to this website and buy your own for $99 and shipping:
You can use your PC, Android, or iOS device to access the Airconsole web page and configure the unit any way you prefer. What's nice about using the Airconsole is you don't have to worry about getting a comm driver since it is built in to the Airconsole device. This also will work with Apple and Linux, Unix environments.

In addition to the charging report there is also additional information that can be requested using button presses on the Scooba UI (User Interface) Here is what you will see if you press the Clean button once:

There is also a program inside every iRobot robot that is called the "Built in Test" You can use a special key sequence to acces this program and once it is activated, the program provides test results on every sensor and motor contained in the robot as well as LED test indications and a wonderful test output with all the testing data.
Here is an example of the first three diagnostic tests. There are 27 total tests that are performed on your Scooba 450:

The test 0 turns on all LEDs and cycles through all possible color combinations on the front panel.
Test 1 tests the IMU and the front bumper smarts.
Test 2 checks the Left and Right bump sensors for proper operation.
